Johanna Richter
I currently hold a postdoctoral position in Prof. Mark Walker's lab at the University of Queensland, Australia, where I also completed my PhD in 2023. The main research focus of my work is the development of a safe and effective protein subunit vaccine that protects against Group A Streptococcus infection. I am involved in an NIH-funded project in collaboration with (among others) UCSD, UTHSC and VFI aiming to assess the impact of novel adjuvants on vaccine efficacy and immune responses. My research interests cover the entire vaccine development process, encompassing the selection and formulation of antigens and adjuvants, vaccine efficacy testing, investigation of immune correlates of protection, and the translation of findings from preclinical models to clinical settings.
