Sounak Chowdhury

I am a PhD student in Lund University. Currently I am pursuing my research on host-pathogen proteinprotein interactions with a particular focus on Group A Streptococcus pyogenes. My research mainly involves the combination of quantitative and structural mass spectrometry to identify, quantify and understand novel human proteins interacting with the pathogen. In my research, I am trying to integrate different proteomics and structural approaches to create a global comparative view of the protein interaction networks across different Streptococcus pyogenes serotypes and understand the role of such protein complexes in pathogenesis. I believe such an integrative approach can then later be applied to understand pathogenesis of any other pathogens.
