Eleni Bratanis
Postdoctoral researcher at Lund University, focusing on elucidating the role of platelets in the pathophysiology of sepsis. Currently, my main project aims to better understand the role of platelets (pathological or protective) in the progression from local S. pyogenes infection to sepsis and to identify novel biomarkers/biomarker signatures to define early vs late-stage sepsis. Further, these findings will be applied to investigate biomarker-guided treatment options to prevent impending organ damage and improve the outcome of patients with sepsis.
